Go Resume Go is a free resume and CV checker. You paste your resume and the job description you are applying for, and in a few seconds you see how closely they match, which of the job's keywords are missing, and the specific changes that would help your application reach a recruiter.
What it does
- An estimated match score with its calculation shown step by step, so you can see where every point comes from. How the score works.
- The missing keywords, required first. Terms from the job's requirements come before preferred ones, and alternatives the job accepts ("Python, Go or Java") count once.
- Hard requirements: years of experience, degree level and named certifications, the questions application forms most often screen on, plus a notice when the job's seniority (Senior, Lead, Director) isn't shown in your job titles.
- Resume quality and ATS checks: action verbs, measurable results, standard section headings, contact details and parseable dates.
- A highlighted view of your resume and the job description, showing each keyword in context.
How it works
Applicant tracking systems store your application, and recruiters search and rank candidates by the words in the job description. Go Resume Go reads a posting the same way: it separates the requirements from the preferred qualifications, leaves out benefits and legal text, and builds the list of terms a recruiter is likely to search for. It combines a curated dictionary of several thousand skills, tools and qualifications across industries with the job-specific terms the posting itself uses, so new tools are picked up without waiting for a dictionary update.
It then compares that list with your resume, recognizing word forms ("managed" for "managing"), hyphenated terms ("go-to-market") and abbreviations in either direction ("k8s" for Kubernetes, "QBRs" for quarterly business reviews). Anything it matches in other words is still listed, because some systems only search the exact term.
What it is not
Go Resume Go is not any employer's applicant tracking system, and the score is not the number an employer sees. Hiring systems and recruiters work differently from one another. The score is an honest estimate of how well your resume covers what this job asks for, and no tool can guarantee an interview.

- Add only what is true. The scanner lists every term a recruiter might search for, but you should add only the skills and experience you really have. A resume stuffed with borrowed words does not survive an interview.
