A resume is personal. It holds your contact details, your work history and sometimes more. Before you paste it into any online tool, you should know what happens to it. Here is exactly how Go Resume Go handles your information.
What happens when you press Scan
- Your browser sends the resume text and the job description to our server over an encrypted HTTPS connection.
- The server analyzes the text in memory.
- Your results are sent back to your browser.
- The text is discarded. It is not saved to a database or a file, and it is not written to our logs.
What we don't do
- We don't store your resume or the job descriptions you paste.
- We don't share, sell or reuse your information.
- We don't require an account, an email address or any signup.
- We don't use your text to train any model.
What we do keep
- Basic scan statistics. Our application log records the word counts of the two texts and the resulting score, so we can monitor the service. No text is included.
- Standard web server logs. Like almost every website, our web server records technical request details such as IP address, the page requested and the time, for security and troubleshooting. These logs do not contain the text you paste.
- Website analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand how many people visit and which pages they use. It does not receive the text of your resume or job description. In the UK, the European Economic Area and Switzerland its cookies stay off until you accept them, and wherever you are you can change your choice with Cookie settings at the bottom of every page.
Good privacy habits for any resume tool
- Leave off your full street address; city and state or country is enough. See where to put your contact details.
- Never include ID numbers, bank details or passwords.
- Remove your date of birth and photo unless they are standard where you apply.
- Prefer tools that work without an account and explain clearly what they store.
